Hi peeps! So today I wanna share with you guys one of the best food attractions at Ipoh. What it called? Of course, everyone used to know it. Do you ever hear Konda Kondi Café and Bistro? Maybe some said yes, some said no. Okay, keep scrolling down my dear. I tell you what is kinda interesting here.

First of all, Konda Kondi Café and Bistro is one of the best local restaurants that serves varieties of western food in Ipoh. Their first opening was in 2015. This restaurant is owned by 2 passionate brothers, Azril and Aznil. They offer Mexican food such as pasta, nachos, burgers and some light bites like popcorn chicken and honey chicken wings. Meanwhile, for non-Mexican food lovers, these 2 brothers do offer some local delicacies such as Nasi Ayam Hitam with The O Ais, which one of the set dinners offered on the first page of the menu.

This Malay Café by the name of Konda Kondi Café and Bistro is a hip, happening and alcohol-free. So just no worries guys! it is acceptable for Muslim youngsters to flock for their good food and good music. By all these, people who came here will leave the sorrow inside of their bodies while enjoying all those tempting foods!

So, talking ‘bout experience, my classmates and I have been there a year ago, back in precious 2019. We’ve made a trip to Ipoh in order to implement our tour guiding project. Those time around, we decided to go for a dinner session at Konda Kondi Café and Bistro. It was quite long progress of ordering food since we were coming there by a group trip. We did a reservation and order the foods one week earlier thru what’s app. So right after we arriving at the restaurant, we just come in, have sits and wait for the foods to be served. Since the interior is very unique and full of vintage recycled furniture, we couldn’t make it stop to eye-rolling at all the surroundings J

So I attach some of the foods served here and our memorable dinner pictures. Let the photos do the talking.

GIANT PLATE
CHICKEN LAVA BURGER
SPAGHETTI CARBONARA

We kick start our dinner with Chicken Lava Burger followed by Chicken Grilled with Blackpepper Sauce. For your information, Chicken Lava Burger is one of the recommended dishes by the waiter and they did not lie it for sure! The Chicken Grilled come up with a slice of tender grill chicken (the size is medium but surely can make you satisfy), sausages, some French fries, some veggies and homemade black pepper sauce on it.  After that, Spaghetti Carbonara came with Spaghetti Aglio Olio. Be cautious to those who do not eat spicy, you might want to consider ordering another type of pasta as the Aglio olio one is toooooooo spicy in my opinion, while the spaghetti carbonara only comes with beef, so if you do not take beef, you can order Chicken Chop, Nasi Ayam Hitam and anything else!

Overall, the meal was considered not bad for its price as it is the regular cafe food price for each main course cost about RM18.00+ per plate. Our ratings? It’s about 7.5/10 as some of the dishes is a lil bit salty. However, it was extremely the best experience for us to have a dinner session at the local signature restaurant in Ipoh! And I know there are so many people from other states are looking for Konda Kondi Café and Bistro. Luckily, we have a chance to be there. Highly recommended!

2. MIKER FOOD, IPOH

Next!

So, when asking the Perakian about another good place to eat, they suggest to eat at Miker Food. Ye aterrr kate Peghok, miker miker la kannn..

Hold on! Keep scrolling. Let’s follow the blog to know more about Miker Food J
Miker Food, is located in the heart of Ipoh Town, well known as Padang Ipoh. They started operating since 2016. Miker serves a mixture of fusion, local and western delights that cater to taste buds from all around the world. They are know for satisfying the cravings of locals and tourists alike. Plonked with wooden tables and simple relaxed chairs glaring into a large empty field, it creates a good atmosphere and chill vibes there. However, there is ample indoor and outdoor seating situated at the corner.

What is more interesting? They serve Tom Yum Nyor/Tom Yum Dalam Kelapa (or Nior, the northern and eastern Malay old slang for coconut). This one menu, is one of the best signatures at Miker Food and a must-try! The Restaurant Manager, Mr. Amzari, has ever mentioned the coconut water itself is used in making this precious and delicious tom yum, giving it the perfect spicy-sweet balance. Some advice from me, unfortunately, Tom Yam Nyor is only available at NIGHT. So, don’t you expect to have Tom Yam Nyor in the early evening, hehe.

I’ve been there with my lovely classmates since we stayed at Ipoh for 3 days and 2 nights. We’ve put Miker Food as one of our destinations for the dinner session in our itinerary. As usual, a prior reservation has always been recommended especially when you’re with a big group of people. The members of the food committee for this trip did a reservation and immediate order a week earlier before the trip. We’ve chose to eat various Malay dishes along with Tom Yum Nyor! As we arrived and sits, we just only need to wait while the foods to be served! It didn’t take a long time to wait but there’s a butterfly in our stomach. Auch. So hungry! We couldn’t wait to eat Tom Yum Nyor!

Tick-tack, it was 6:30 p.m. We kick start our dinner with the amazing dishes. Ikan Kerapu Masak 3 Rasa, Daging Masak Merah, Telur Dadar, Kailan Ikan Masin, Kangkung Goreng Belacan, and of course, Tom Yam Nyor, hihihihihihi. The shimmering Tom Yum Nyor let out a delightful aroma of spices while the scent wafting through the nose leaving a tingling yet burning sensation. The taste of the soup is spicy yet full of the sweetness of the coconut water, makes a perfect balance of taste. Not to forget! The handmade stone oven pizza from Miker Pizza is also something to die for! It is crunchy, thin-crust with generous toppings and cheese! So much thank you for our beloved lecturers who came along because paid for the pizza <3.  Although Kangkung Goreng Belacan is a common dish among the Malay cuisine which always happens to be spicy in taste but the version of Miker is rather spicier than the usual ones. We loved it!

Unfortunately, I forgot about the price but the overall meal is rather satisfying with a very affordable price! I promise! How 'bout rate? Uhmm, okay i give 9.5 out of 10! So what are you waiting for? Don't forget to add Miker Food in your bucket list!

3. PLAN B, IPOH

Address: No. 75, Jalan Panglima, 30000 Ipoh, Negeri Perak

H/P: 05-249 8286

Open daily from 10.00 a.m. - 12 a.m.

Ssup everyone! So here we go to another best food attractions in Ipoh. Represent to you, Plan B, Ipoh!

Let's fallin' back on Plan B, Ipoh @ Ipoh Old Town. Plan B is a brand under the rampantly-expanding BIG Group. They already have 5 branches in the Klang Valley. Although some are under slightly different names such as:

1) Puran B @ One Utama
2) Journal @ Publika

Plan B opened up its 6th venture in the heart of Ipoh old town, directly to the most famous kopitiam in Ipoh which is Kong Heng.

Plan B injected some lively elements of green by planting trees within the premise.

Look up! There are sections for single diners, tables for two diners, and even long tables for a celebration or more. Guys, do you notice the gunny sack-wrapped cushions juxtaposed against the brick walls and pots of plants? Guess they are welcoming you! Hehe.

In addition, you will get an interesting breakfast and brunch selection that served until 6 p.m., burgers and sandwiches. What else? They also have Ben’s Salt Beef Sandwich here, pastas, soups, salads and some heavier mains including Asian fares.

That being said, expect to pay around RM 22 – 26 for the mains, around RM 20 for the sandwiches and salads and about RM 10 – 15 for the cakes. Not as scream-inducing/blood-sucking as some have claimed and blown the matter out of proportion.

This is Duck Confit & Orange Salad. It costs at RM23.
Strips of duck confit, arugula (rocket leaves), butterhead, red cabbage, fried quinoa, green apple, cucumber, pear and orange segments, tossed in maple orange dressing.

This is Egg Benedict. It costs at RM16.
2 poached eggs with golden runny yolks, turkey bacon and Hollandaise sauce on toasted sourdough muffins.

The most tempting; this is Turkey Ham and Cheddar Toastie (RM17) with shoestring fries and a cup of salad, plus a cup of Cappucino costs at RM8.

Latte, Cappucino served with biscotti and Cakes from the counter.

Overall, it is not wrong to put Plan B @ Ipoh in your bucket list. This cafe is very instagrammable plus the food is also good! Here I share some pictures of me and my friends around the Plan B. (We're not eating at the Plan B, but soon of course we gonna go here!)

Okay, chow sin chi!
